Rough nights four to seven: end with the past and be ready for the new

Rough nights four to seven: end with the past and be ready for the new - FindeDeinYoga.org

The blog series continues on the topic of the Rough Nights, the mysterious and holy time between Christmas and Epiphany. The first three rough nights were already looked at in more detail in the previous blog post. You haven't read the post yet? Then this way.

At this point we continue with the fourth Rauhnacht , the night from December 27th to 28th. This symbolizes April of the following year and is dedicated to clearing blockades . If we look at it metaphorically, the new buds of the plants break open in April and nature awakens to a new life after hibernation.

Use this rough night to deal with the past that may not have gone so well or that is bothering you and to create space for something new . Explore your talents, your hobbies, maybe plan a trip or start a new project.

Also ask yourself the following questions and answer them for yourself if possible:

  • What do I want to do for myself?
  • Which old habits keep coming back to me? Which of these do I want to dissolve and change?
  • What can I let go of?
  • What is blocking me?

The fifth Rauhnacht from December 28th to 29th is for May of the coming year. The themes of this rough night are self-love and friendship .

Do something good for yourself and give yourself a little time for yourself, for example by meditating, going for a walk or just enjoying a warm cup of tea in front of the fireplace. Also thank your friends for being you and show them how much they mean to you. For example, write a card or call her.

You can also ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who are my friends? Who do I like to spend time with?
  • Which people do I want to break away from?
  • Am I a good friend to myself?
  • What is important to me in a friendship?

In the sixth Rauhnacht from December 29th to 30th, everything revolves around the topic of cleanup . It symbolizes the month of June of the following year and is dedicated to the question: What do I want to leave behind from last year?

Create order in your living space, but also in your thoughts.

You can ask yourself the following questions:

  • What can I let go of? What can I free myself from?
  • What is not yet taken? What else needs a degree?

The seventh Rauhnacht from December 30th to 31st is the last night of the old year and therefore also a turning point within the Rauhnachts. It stands for July of the coming year and deals with preparation for the future . It's about finally leaving everything old behind and creating visions for the new year.

Prepare yourself some hot cocoa and make yourself comfortable in your retreat. Light candles, listen to some music and drink your cocoa mindfully. In doing so, mentally close with old topics.

Ask yourself:

  • What is my vision for the new year?
  • What do I wish for?
  • Where do I want to send strength and energy?

Ritual for your rough nights: 13 wishes for the rough nights

In this article we would also like to introduce you to a ritual that you can carry out for yourself during the rough nights. A very popular one is the ritual of the 13 wishes.

Before the Rauhnächte begins (alternatively on each day of the individual Rauhnächte) write down 13 wishes for the coming year. It's best to put them on small pieces of paper that look the same and fold them together.

Ask yourself:

  • What should come true for me?
  • What do I want to strengthen within myself?

It is important that you actively formulate your wishes and imagine what it would feel like if the wish came true. For example: “I am healthy.”

Every rough night you burn one of the wishes, but don't check which one beforehand. With this you send your wishes to the universe to be fulfilled. It is said that the wish you burn on the first Rauhnacht will come true in January, the wish you burn on the second Rauhnacht will come true in February, etc.

There will be a piece of paper left at the end of the rough nights - you don't burn it, but open it on January 6th. You will be actively involved in fulfilling this wish in the coming years.

With the seventh Rauhnacht from December 30th to 31st, the old year is finally over and we are ready for something new . What will the rest of the rough nights be busy with in the new year? There are answers to this in the following articles in this series.

So, stop by again and stay tuned!
