Description yoga

Yoga has its roots in India and is a millennia-old method of bringing body, mind and soul into harmony.
This can be achieved through postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, nutrition and meditation.
Originally, the postures were used to strengthen the body so that one could sit still in meditation for longer and thus achieve spiritual enlightenment and self-realization in order to free oneself from pain and suffering.
In our western world, the body positions of 'Hatha Yoga' are best known. 'Hatha' means: 'ha' sun and 'tha' moon and symbolize different energies. 'Yoga' means something like to yoke/connect. This means that with 'Hatha Yoga' we connect the different energies within us to harmonize body, mind and soul and to calm our thoughts.
Asanas - body positions
There are a variety of asanas (body positions) with different effects, in which particular attention is usually paid to a specific part of the body. For example, through stretching, strengthening, opening or mobilization.
The positions always have a physical, mental and energetic aspect. There are positions that are more calming and those that are stimulating. Yoga trains the entire body with the right choice of asanas (body positions). The individual muscle groups are trained and tightened, making the whole body more flexible and the overall silhouette slimmer.
Pranayama - breathing exercises
In yoga, the body positions are always connected to the flow of breath. Correct breathing supplies the body with vital oxygen when taking in air and, when the breath flows out of the lungs, helps to remove waste substances that are released through the air we breathe. Because of stress, we often breathe very shallowly. This in turn has an impact on our well-being. With pranayama (breathing exercises) we can become aware of our breath again and influence our physical health and our mental-emotional well-being.

Meditation is the centering of the mind on one point. This can be your breath, a candle flame, a mantra or even a positive affirmation. You can meditate while sitting, lying down or even walking. The possibilities are diverse and variable. Meditation also works on a physical, mental and emotional level. The heartbeat slows, the need for oxygen decreases and every cell in the body learns to relax. Negative thought patterns dissolve and life is perceived positively.

There is a relaxation exercise at the beginning and end of a yoga class. At the beginning of the yoga class, relaxation is used to leave everyday life behind and arrive completely in the here and now in order to practice yoga with attention and mindfulness. There are always short periods of relaxation between the asanas (body positions). At the end of a yoga class there is a final relaxation in order to let the energy that has built up during the asanas (body positions) flow into all areas of the body and to feel it deeply into the body once again.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing method that was mentioned in ancient Sanskrit writings 2,500 years ago. Reiki means 'universal life energy'. We are constantly surrounded by this 'universal life energy' and absorb it into ourselves. If the energy can flow freely within us, we feel good mentally and physically. We are in balance.
However, if the energy cannot flow freely, blockages arise, which can manifest themselves in a wide variety of mental and physical complaints and illnesses. Body and soul are out of balance.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki heals holistically; it works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels and dissolves existing blockages. It thus brings body, mind and soul back into balance and activates the self-healing powers. This harmonizes body functions and energies, relieves pain and reduces stress. Reiki relaxes and has an extremely calming effect on our nervous system. It has a soothing effect on allergies and contributes to the recovery process from illnesses.
Reiki treatments
A full-body treatment lasts about 60 minutes. The hands are placed in various positions from head to feet or held just above the body. Cost: 55 euros
A partial treatment lasts about 25 minutes and treats something acute such as a headache or a cold. Cost: 30 euros.
However, if the symptoms occur more frequently, several full-body treatments are required over a certain period of time in order to eliminate the energy disturbance.
It is not necessary to undress for a Reiki treatment.
There will be a 15-minute conversation before and after the treatment. In the preliminary discussion we will clarify your concerns and your wishes. In the follow-up conversation we will discuss my recommendations.
I do not carry out any treatment in the medical sense. A Reiki treatment does not replace a visit to a doctor or psychologist.
