From January you can start a two-year yoga teacher training online and benefit from the many years of experience of Yoga Vidya's two-year training concept.
It is possible to take part online for the entire two years or to switch to on-site training in over 58 cities during the course of the training.
The two-year yoga teacher training gives you the opportunity to delve deeply into the topic of yoga and process it at your leisure over two years. You will learn more about yoga and consciously develop and grow in your personality.
The topics discussed in yoga teacher training promote increased awareness in dealing with yourself and others and can give your life a surprising turn. This also makes the training valuable for you as an accompanying life training, even if you do not have the goal of working as a yoga teacher.
For training phases that you would like to complete online, you are free to choose from all centers across Germany that offer online training.
You can then attend training phases that can be held on-site at the center as a face-to-face event in your home town or continue online, depending on your preference.

Structure of the training:
The training takes place once a week: asanas, pranayama, deep relaxation, meditation, mental techniques, mantra singing, lecture/meeting/discussion.
The continuity of the course ensures systematic training and individual guidance. Exercises are recommended for each week and tasks for daily life are given. This way you can put what you have learned into practice in a very practical way. By participating online, you are location-independent and can take part even if you don't have a city center near you or if you move during the course of your training.
Intensive weekend seminars accompany the training. Detached from the distractions of daily life, these weekends allow you to experience the depth of being and take your practice to a new level each time. The dates of the intensive weekends depend on the choice of the supporting city center. There are usually six weekends in the first year of training.
There are no courses during the summer break, between Christmas and New Year and on public holidays.
The yoga teacher training is divided into eight thematic blocks:

- Tantra and Kundalini Yoga - Yoga of Energy
- Raja Yoga - Mental training and meditation
- Karma Yoga - Yoga of action
- Bhakti Yoga - Contact with the divine

Personality development:
The two-year yoga teacher training is a comprehensive, practice-oriented training and systematic development of the entire personality.
The first year is a systematic training of all aspects of your entire personality and creates a solid foundation for your own practice and teaching.
The second year includes deepening your own practice and studying the classic yoga scriptures: Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Yoga Sutra. We cover human anatomy, physiology and movement theory.
You will learn the basic principles of yoga teaching with the following focus: beginner courses, intermediate level, advanced, mixed groups, yoga for the back, yoga for pregnant women, yoga for children, yoga for seniors, possibilities and limits of yoga therapy.
My own teaching experience comes from teaching each other in small groups as well as within the yoga center's normal yoga classes.
During this time you can have deep spiritual experiences and approach your true nature step by step. You develop all parts of your personality: body, energies, feelings, thoughts and intuition. The training leaves enough scope to internalize the theoretically learned knowledge and put it into practice. You will be able to do things you never thought possible before.
Special features of online training:
- Lectures and yoga classes are held easily via the Zoom platform
- Through the live broadcast you have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the group at any time
- You can also actively participate online and gain teaching experience in small groups
- you are part of a group and can exchange ideas with other members
- please remember: online training also requires your full attention, thirst for knowledge and motivation
For the online training you need:
- a quiet room without disturbance
- Yoga mat or carpet
- stable internet connection
- Computer or tablet (if necessary smartphone) with camera and microphone
Conditions of participation and examination:
Basic knowledge of asanas and yoga philosophy is necessary to know what to expect. Regular participation in the courses and seminars as well as the desire to develop yourself are required. You need around 30-90 minutes to do the exercises every day. In the second year, you are expected to abstain from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, meat and fish.
To be admitted to the exam, you must attend at least 85% of the weekly course units (but at least 78 dates) and 85% of the weekends. A missed weekend can be made up for within the same year if you cancel your registration early (at least 14 days in advance) after consultation with the respective training manager. Course lessons missed without excuse can be made up for a fee.
You can leave at any time by paying ¼ of the remaining amount of the training fee.
The exam consists of an oral part in the form of a teaching sample and a written exam.
Certificate and recognition:
Yoga Vidya e.V. is Europe's leading yoga teacher training center.
At the end of the training there is an exam. You will then receive the “Yoga Teacher (BYV)” certificate from the Professional Association of Yoga Vidya Teachers (BYV).
The Professional Association of Yoga Vidya Teachers e.V. (BYV) is an association of yoga teachers who are committed to classical, integral yoga. In collaboration with Yoga Vidya e.V., it conducts training and further training for yoga teachers, publishes yoga teaching material, maintains contacts with other associations and institutions and supports its members in their work.
Yoga Vidya e.V. has so far trained more than 20,000 yoga teachers in over 800 training groups.
Training fee:
The training lasts 2 years. You pay 24 monthly installments. This monthly fee includes all course evenings and weekends in the center as well as the intensive weekends or intensive weeks in the seminar houses (including overnight accommodation and vegetarian meals), the yoga teacher's manual and the examination fee.
Recognition as educational leave:
