Description yoga
The basis of my teaching is traditional Hatha Yoga with its philosophy.
I first came into contact with yoga in San Francisco at the age of 24. A few years later, the country of origin of yoga – India – called to me. I attended particularly important yoga seminars and meditations in Bodhgaya and Rishikesh. In 1996 I began a 4-year training program (20 weekends of classroom instruction) to become a certified Hatha Yoga teacher in Zofingen. Here I was also introduced to Kriya meditation according to Yogananda. After that, I started teaching and continued my education with renowned yoga teachers in the following years. Among others, I studied with Leopoldo Chariarse, Reinhard Gammenthaler, Anand Nayak, Estelle Eichenberger (Jivamukti Yoga), Akhilesh Bodhi, Anna Trökes, Barbara Burkhardt, etc. With Remo Rittiner, Martin Soder and Susan Kieser, I immersed myself in the world of yoga therapy.
I currently teach 5 Hatha Yoga classes and one Yoga Nidra class at Wesemlin Monastery.
My six years of study to become a naturopathic practitioner and my practical experience also influence my yoga practice. Meridian stretches are integrated into certain exercises.
Thus, several styles are combined into a unique whole, because yoga means union. It could also be described as YinYang Yoga, combining dynamism and relaxation. For me, it is important to demonstrate the physical and mental effects of the asanas, as well as to include healing pranayamas (breathing exercises) and mudras (hand gestures). Yoga Nidra (“sleep yoga”) is also close to my heart. My lessons are often accompanied by gentle sounds from singing bowls, Koshi chimes, Sansula, Native American flutes, etc.
What I also enjoy is combining yoga with nature. For about 10 years I have been organizing yoga and hiking weekends in Switzerland and trips abroad (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain)
