Introductory workshop Buteyko method
The Buteyko Method (named after the Ukrainian physician Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, 1923-2003) is based on the fundamental approach of restoring a physiological breathing pattern and counteracting chronic/habitual hyperventilation. This is achieved through nasal breathing only, tidal volume and respiratory rate adapted to individual needs, and efficient diaphragmatic activation. Specific breathing techniques are learned and practiced regularly over an extended period to correct the impaired CO2 tolerance of the respiratory center.
What you can expect in this 4-hour workshop:
- the basics of healthy breathing
- Causes and consequences of habitual hyperventilation
- Basic tests, breathing and relaxation exercises from the Buteyko method and respiratory physiotherapy
- You will receive handouts and exercise logs to document the process and progress.
- numerous tips and tricks from practical experience
