Description yoga
The lotus flower is a symbol of flawlessness.
The lotus is an aquatic plant that has its roots in the muddy lake bed. Leaves and flowers - which are similar to those of water lilies - have a surface on which water runs off completely in drops and in this way takes all dirt particles with it. This is called the lotus effect.
With yoga practice we can find a place of retreat within ourselves. There the 'dirt particles', such as anger, fears and stress, can no longer harm us and can no longer touch or bother our innermost being. This way we can recover and go back to everyday life with more peace and strength. With time and a little practice, the 'lotus feeling' can last all day, so that we no longer allow ourselves to be 'stressed out'. And the best thing is: we always have this retreat with us!
Our yoga courses are neither gymnastics courses nor are they intended to 'work out' like in a fitness course.
Of course, the asanas (that's what the yoga exercises are called) stretch the body and make it flexible. However, we proceed carefully and each course participant pushes himself to his own personal limits - without pressure and with care for his body.
The asanas are a means to an end: namely, getting to know yourself better, finding your center and bringing your body, soul and spirit into harmony.
That's why we also have space for meditative exercises in our courses, but that doesn't mean that the body isn't challenged too. Yoga has always appealed to people as a whole, and we design our courses in this original spirit. This is good for the body - and good for the whole person.
I am a member of the Association of German Yoga Teachers (BDY) and the American Yoga Alliance (YA).
I trained as a yoga teacher largely in Roswitha Maria Gerwin's Integral Yoga School in the Benediktbeuern Monastery in Upper Bavaria.
The training was certified by the Yoga Alliance: Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). In addition to training, the certificate requires ongoing training, practicing yoga and following yoga ethics.
Classic yoga lessons with asanas (yoga positions), meditation and breathing exercises. Yoga speaks to people as a whole, and we design our courses with this in mind.
