Description yoga

Diversity in the yoga loft
Our goal is to integrate yoga into everyday life in such a way that everyone can benefit from it. In our extensive course schedule we offer various yoga directions for beginners, beginners and advanced students.
Hatha Yoga is taught in the form of Vinyasa Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga and Sivanada Yoga. We aim to teach yoga in all its aspects. This means that in addition to physical exercises such as sun salutations and asanas, emphasis is placed on breathing, relaxation and meditation. That's why we will continue to offer workshops that focus on topics that cannot be covered in depth in a classic yoga class, such as deep relaxation, guided meditation, health and nutrition.
That's exactly why we want to pass on our knowledge and our positive experiences to everyone. Women like men, children like the elderly, pregnant women like young mothers. Stressed and relaxed people. Beginners and experienced people alike. Everyone will benefit equally because everyone will get to know their body better, reduce tension and find more inner peace. Find out that it only takes a little to feel stronger, more self-confident, healthier and happier. And notice how quickly progress becomes visible and tangible.
But a yoga class is actually much better than beautiful words and good texts. After all, Swami Sivananda already said:
"An ounce of practice is better than tons of theory."

    "Be a Yogi - be in time"
    We open the door 15 minutes before the course starts. When the yoga class begins, we close the entrance door so that valuables and personal items are in good hands during the classes and to ensure peace and quiet for the classes in progress. Please be at the studio on time, as late entry is not possible. If you have to leave earlier, please do so before the final relaxation so that the others are not disturbed.
    Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first visit.

    The vibration also disrupts the lesson.
    Don't eat for about 2 hours before yoga
    Come with an empty stomach; it is better to practice if two hours have passed since your last meal.

    Bring your own mat. You can also deposit your mat with us.
    We will provide you with a mat free of charge for a trial lesson.
    Rental mats are available for €1, of which 50 cents go to the children's aid project "Futuro Si!"
    Injuries, pregnancy etc.
    Inform the teacher in advance if you have injured yourself or have any special complaints (high blood pressure, heart problems, thyroid disease, herniated disc, operations, etc.). Please let us know immediately if you are pregnant!
    Keep order
    Please leave large bags and backpacks in the changing room.
    If you take glasses, valuables, keys, watches, etc. into the yoga room, please put the items on the windowsill or somewhere to the side so that the teacher doesn't accidentally step on them. This way your things are safe and the yoga room is free and tidy.

    If possible, you should not drink during the lesson so as not to put a strain on your stomach during the practice. If you still feel the need, only bring plastic water bottles into the yoga room. You should drink a lot after class.
    Place
    Yoga teaching is about cultivating community. Please come together if necessary. As a rule, you don’t need more than the space of your mat.
    hygiene
    Avoid sweat and the smell of cigarettes and make sure your feet and fresh clothes are clean - the others will thank you. Please note that many people are allergic to perfumes and therefore please refrain from using strong scents before class.
    Ambition and achievement
    Come to yoga to do something good for yourself, enjoy your time on the mat and leave ambition and performance thinking outside, don't compare yourself to others. Practice only for yourself and your well-being.

    I'm so clumsy - can I still do yoga?
    Yes, of course. Yoga is about experiencing joy and gradually expanding your own limits. It's not just about performing the exercises perfectly, but also about having fun while practicing. If you practice regularly, you will be amazed at how quickly you become more flexible, stretched and relaxed.
    There are simple alternatives for almost all exercises. If you are unsure, ask your teacher.
    What do I have to bring?
    Yoga is best practiced barefoot and in comfortable, stretchy sportswear. Long sleeve over short sleeve allows you to adjust depending on the temperature. Socks and a sweater are useful for the relaxation phase. Blankets and aids are available. Feel free to bring your own mat. If you don't have one yet, you can borrow a mat from us.
    Can I come straight after dinner?
    It makes sense if the last meal was two hours ago. Some of the exercises reduce the abdominal cavity and compress the digestive organs, which can lead to bloating. It is advisable to avoid coffee and black tea before practicing, as well as cigarettes and alcohol, as the effects of the yoga exercises on the organism are masked.
    Which level is right for me?
    You can attend any beginner level when you start yoga. Choose whether you feel like more relaxation (Sivananda Yoga, Deep & Slow) or more physicality (Vinyasa, Anusara).

    When is yoga not suitable?
    Acute illness: If you have the flu, cold, acute gastrointestinal complaints or inflammatory illnesses, you should ask your doctor. Depending on the severity of the illness, give yourself enough rest.
    In the case of acute illnesses of the musculoskeletal system, a break is also useful. Feel free to talk to the teacher and your doctor about the extent to which yoga makes sense.
    If you have high blood pressure/serious heart disease, please speak to your doctor to what extent yoga is suitable for you. It is then possible to select the appropriate course level for you.
    Severe psychological disorders: If you suffer from psychosis, severe depression or something similar, it is advisable to practice carefully. Please be sure to clarify this with your treating doctor. Please inform the teacher about the degree of the illness; some exercises and especially meditation may be counterproductive in such a case.
    If you have a chronic illness, ask in advance whether yoga is suitable for you.
    Why is it important to tell the teacher if something hurts?
    Even if the teachers instruct the exercises so that you can move safely, we do not take responsibility for your body. Always feel inside yourself and decide how much is good for you. Let us know if you would like assistance. Some things are not visible from the outside, so we rely on you to tell us where it hurts, e.g. B. after a knee injury. The responsibility for you and your body lies solely with you. But we can help you practice yoga without injury if we know about it.
    Can I also do yoga during my period?
    The important thing here is to find out how your body tolerates the practice. Basically, you can practice yoga as long as you feel fit enough.
    Why is there no mirror?
    Practicing yoga is about developing a body awareness and finding out what a posture feels like. With regular yoga practice, your body awareness increases and you can feel, for example, whether your back is straight or round.
    Do I have to attend a beginners workshop before I start yoga?
    No, but it makes perfect sense to take part in a beginners workshop to understand the principles of yoga science. But you can start at any time during open hours.
