M.Ed., Ph.D., D.Litt., ND, DYEd. Diploma in Yoga Therapy, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Sports Journalism; Director of the Lonavla Yoga Institute LYI, India. Areas of focus in yoga teacher training include classical yoga, Sanskrit, and mantra.

‍Dr. Manmath Gharote is director of the Lonavla Yoga Institute (India).

He holds a Ph.D. in sports science, the first Ph.D. of its kind at the University of Mumbai.

He has published over 25 scholarly works dealing with ancient yoga manuscripts. For his outstanding work on and based upon classical yoga texts, he was awarded a Doctor of Letters in Yoga (Honoris Causa).

He has led more than 150 yoga seminars in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He has also conducted 10 international yoga conferences and 8 international yoga workshops.

He is a consultant for several international yoga organizations, a member of the Board for Yoga & Sports Culture at the University of Pune, India, and has received numerous national and international awards.

The spiritual dimensions of yoga are strongly influenced by meditative exercises and experiences. What's fascinating is that so many different practices are taught, all equally valid. Just as yoga and Ayurveda therapy are individually tailored processes, we are increasingly coming to the realization that the form of meditation must suit the individual, not the other way around. Therefore, it is worthwhile to experience and explore various practices and to understand their effects from both a spiritual and psychological perspective.

In this one-day seminar and workshop, we will practically explore and learn about meditation. At the same time, we will delve into the philosophical background using original texts from the yoga tradition. Martin Mittwede studied Indology and Religious Studies, immersing himself in the wisdom of Asian cultures. Integration, intercultural connections between mysticism, spirituality and religious experience, spiritual yoga, meditation and mindfulness are important topics and areas of research for him.
For many years he led a course of study in Ayurvedic medicine. In this way, he connects the themes of health and healing, meaning of life and philosophy, spirituality and psychological stability. Since 2017, he has been working as a psychotherapist in his own practice, combining the originality of ancient wisdom with practical life experiences and everyday realities to meet people where they are.
