Women who want to regulate their hormone balance and control their well-being in a natural way have the opportunity to start hormone yoga in this 8-week course in our studio in Saarbrücken or online at home. A recording is sent out for independent weekly practice.
If you are curious and have the deepest desire to change something and have a positive influence on your quality of life, then this course can perhaps be your introduction to self-determined change.
The Hormonyoga course gives you a look at this wonderful method, which is both scientifically proven and immediately noticeable in its effectiveness. If you cannot take part on site in Saarbrücken, we will provide you with information from the time the course begins on April 22nd, 2022 (evening course). or 04/25/22 (morning course) the recordings of the entire course will be available for the duration of the hormone yoga course, so that you can deepen what you have learned in peace and in your own time.
What is Hormone Yoga?
Hormone Yoga was developed in the 90s by Brazilian yoga teacher and psychologist Dinah Rodrigues. She researched the endocrine system and its effects using energy control. With her studies, she demonstrated the effect of reactivating hormone production and developed a holistic exercise system for women.
Hormone yoga is based on the control of prana (vital energy or life energy) that flows through our body. The hormone yoga exercises activate the prana and, with the help of visualization, direct it to the hormonal glands such as the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal glands and ovaries. For this purpose, a special breathing exercise, Bhastrika, a breathing technique from Kundalini Yoga, or Ujjayi breathing, is practiced in selected asanas.
The combination of asanas (physical exercises) and pranayama helps to quickly activate a lot of energy while massaging and stimulating the relevant hormonal glands. So that the released energy remains in the body, bandhas, so-called body closures, are placed. In addition, a Tibetan form of energy direction is used, with which the energy is directed to the hormone-producing glands.
Another essential part of hormone yoga therapy (HoYo) is stress reduction. We know that the nervous system corresponds very closely to the hormonal system.
When we are stressed, our nervous system goes into overdrive, our sympathetic nervous system, a part of the nervous system, is activated and the fight and flight mechanism kicks in, an ancient survival mechanism. The result is that stress hormones are constantly released. The stress hormone cortisol suppresses hormone levels and metabolism.
So many processes in our body no longer run properly. We lose our libido, fat is stored, we are often very tired, feel listless, get cravings and often depression, to name just a few of the effects of stress on our system.
The practice of HoYo includes a large part of the practice dedicated to calming the nervous system and returning the body to a natural balance using stress-regulating breathing exercises and mindfulness exercises from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Is hormone yoga suitable for absolute beginners?
We recommend at least 6 months of regular yoga practice beforehand
How is a hormone yoga class structured?
A hormone yoga class always has the same structure. At the beginning there are warm-up exercises to prepare the joints and the backs of the legs.
Then you move on to selected asanas and energy direction. Here we send the energy into the hormonal glands using breathing and visualization.
After the active sequence, there is a yoga nidra, a calming breathing exercise and a meditation or mindfulness exercise from Tibetan Buddhism. A hormone yoga class ideally lasts 60 minutes.
But it can also be shorter exercise units; with an exercise program of 20 minutes 3 times a week, wonderful results can be achieved over a period of 6 months.
What else is important to know?
It has happened more often that women got their periods again and annoying cramps went away straight away. However, that is not the rule. This “loving self-care” is needed, i.e. a regular practice of at least 20 minutes 3 times a week over a period of at least 6 months is essential.
You shouldn't have an additional appointment in your calendar to get into this practice. We women are often exposed to double or triple stress. We function in the family, at work, we still want to be great friends, daughters, wives, cooks and lovers and then the house has to shine, there always has to be fresh laundry and so on - and sometimes we have to prove something to ourselves -what we can do and what we can do. The body is running at full speed and once it's settled in, it's difficult to get rid of it.
For this practice it is important to let go of one thing so that this practice can come along. No more stress is needed! Hormone regulation is not possible with stress! So relax and peel the potatoes later or just leave the laundry lying around :-)
*There are always exceptions to practicing hormone yoga, i.e. there is always the option to modify your practice, if you have one of the contraindications, please talk to me and we will see if there is a way to get started anyway - This is only in one Personal conversation possible.
