My name is Sonja, I am an occupational therapist, advanced yoga teacher, meditation trainer and course leader for relaxation techniques. In my yoga classes I mainly teach Hatha Yoga such as: the Rishikesh series according to Swami Sivananda as well as parts from Ashtanga Yoga according to T. Krishnamacharya. I also incorporate exercises from Kundalini Yoga according to Yogi Bhajan into the lessons.
A yoga class includes asanas and pranayama, the full effect of which can unfold in Shavasana. Meditations and chanting mantras can complement the practice.
It is important to me that the participants in my yoga classes practice independently of the pressure to perform and the demand for perfection. Rather, it's about experiencing joy and ease during practice. All participants practice according to their individual abilities. My yoga lessons should be a space to feel yourself, to experience and accept your own limits and at the same time to discover and develop your own potential. A space for peace and relaxation, for physical well-being as well as for individual development and growth.
