Yoga in hospitals and retirement homes
Sounds of the near future reach us today with our find of the week: virtual reality and yoga. The “Different” project by Dr. Andreas Haas wants to bring yoga to hospitals and retirement homes, perhaps even to nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. The aim is to reach all those people who are unable to participate in normal social life due to operations or rehabilitation or because their mobility is restricted and, for example, they can no longer leave the retirement home alone.
Virtual reality and yoga
Virtual reality is intended to take people out of their environment, at least for a few short moments. Virtual reality through glasses in front of the eyes puts people in a soothing natural environment. In this world, the program motivates and assists with yoga, relaxation, therapeutic breathing exercises and light movement exercises. The exercises were selected so that they can be performed both while lying down with the backrest tilted and while sitting. This means that everyone around the world can experience the beneficial nature of yoga, tailored to their own abilities.
