Description yoga
Ayurvedic yoga massage (AYM)
Ayurvedic yoga massage (AYM) combines elements of Ayurveda, deep massage and therapeutic yoga teachings according to B.K.S. Iyengar.
AYM harmonizes the flow of life energy (Prana) in the body, relieves muscle tension, reduces joint stiffness, and stretches fascia and connective tissue. It alleviates musculoskeletal and respiratory disorders, reduces mental and emotional stress, promotes healing of injuries and improves posture and well-being. AYM increases quality of life and performance.
Calamus root extract and essential oils stimulate skin circulation, improve skin texture and help the body detoxify.
The immediate and long-lasting effect of the massage is stimulating and relaxing at the same time.
The AYM method originally comes from India. Kusum Modak, born in Pune, India, and long-time student of B.K.S. Iyengar developed it in the early 1980s. In addition to elements from Iyengar Yoga, she integrated knowledge from her apprenticeship with Lamaye Maharaj, master in therapeutic and Ayurvedic massage.
The treatment lasts between 60-90 minutes and takes place on a mattress lying on the floor.
About me:
My profession: yoga teacher, Ayurvedic yoga massage therapist, TRX and Pilates trainer, sports scientist.
My two favorite items: my passport – and my (yoga) mat.
After graduating from high school, I studied sports science (focusing on rehabilitation and prevention) and journalism (M.A.) at the universities of Mainz and Potsdam. During my studies, I spent two years abroad and worked, among other things, as a swimming instructor for children, as a sports therapist in rehabilitation facilities and senior sports groups.
After completing my studies, I completed the 200-hour training to become a yoga teacher (Vinyasa Flow), the training to become a TRX and Pilates trainer, the 100-hour Yin Yoga training - and my great love, India.
As a passionate backpacker, I use every opportunity to get to know distant countries and further my education. Among other things, I traveled through India twice for several months, spent time in ashrams and practiced yoga with different teachers - including Balu Thevar (Ashtanga, Goa), Yogi Naveen (Power Flow, Rishikesh), Yogi Sivadas (Hatha, McLeod Ganja).
In India I also completed my training as an Ayurvedic massage therapist at the Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Yoga Massage AYM-ARYM with Ananta Sylvain Girard from France.
Further training courses in India are on my list for the near future - including the 500 hour yoga training and a two-month intensive adjustment training. When I'm not on my mat, I work as a freelance journalist.
