You don't want to buy a MALA, but would rather make your own personal MALA in a group? Then you've come to the right place. A MALA is a great gift for yourself or a very nice gift for friends or your partner. Ideal as an unusual Christmas gift.
My MALA workshop runs as follows:
Before the workshop, I will select the gemstones, knotting silk, guru bead, and tassel for your MALA with you over the phone. You can either choose your birthstone, or you can select gemstones based on their healing properties, or simply based on your personal taste. Otherwise, you can also knot your MALA with sandalwood beads (natural colors).
At the beginning of the workshop, I will give you all the materials. We then practice tying tight knots right next to the bead for about 20 minutes. Then you arrange your gemstones or wooden beads on a bead board and I will show you how to make your own tassel. Then you knot your own MALA. At the end you will receive a fabric bag in which you can store your MALA. I will also give you a paper pendant with the gemstones used in your MALA and their respective meanings and effects.
While we knot the beads, I will tell you about the history and tradition of MALAS as Buddhist prayer beads, meditation accessories, and jewelry, and we will recite a suitable mantra. At the end of the workshop, your MALA will be consecrated with a mantra of your choice and then energetically cleansed.
The MALA workshop will take place with a minimum of eight to a maximum of fourteen people.
It lasts a maximum of 6 hours and costs: regular price €128 if you register after December 25, 2025.
Early bird 108 € (until 24.12.2025). Payment of the workshop fee is due immediately upon booking via Eversports (account: Kleines A Yoga).
Snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop.
These tools are included in the price:
4 silver beads, 4 - 8 gemstone beads, simple guru bead in silver (worth up to 15 €),
1 big-eye needle, pliers, bead board, various cords and threads.
Please bring these utensils: small scissors + lighter
We can discuss your gemstones for the 108-bead mala (various gemstone beads, special guru beads, knotting silk, tassel, etc.) over the phone when you register. I would then get these for you. Please expect additional material costs of between €30 and €80 (I will inform you of these in advance). The costs for special material requests must be paid in cash at the workshop.
Please register in good time (at least two weeks in advance) so that I can obtain the materials if needed.
