Kerstin has been practicing yoga for 25 years. She lived in India for many years, where she deepened her own practice and taught students from all over the world. Her book “All about Yoga” is a bestseller in Germany and also published internationally. Her book “BUSINESS YOGA” was published in 2015 and “My Yoga Essentials” in 2016.
Kerstin is certified as an “Advanced Yoga Teacher” by the Worldwide Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500 hrs Standard for Registered Yoga Schools) and was initiated by Swami Kailasananda (Yoga Acharya of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashrams in Europe). She holds a diploma from the “Yoga Vedanta Academy” in Rishikesh and the title “Yoga Acharya” (which means “Yoga Master”), although Kerstin clearly emphasizes that for her this is just a title for someone who consistently pursues his own practice and this shares with others). In addition, she completed training in Hatha Yoga Anatomy with Yoga Acharya Swami Sivadasananda, in Ashtanga Yoga with Dr. Ron Steiner, took advanced training courses in breathing and bandhas and studied the human chakra system as well as Vedanta philosophy, Ayurveda and various meditation techniques. She studied Kriya Yoga through the one-year teaching according to the original writings of Paramahansa Yogananda (Self Realization Fellowship).
Over the many years of her own practice, she has gathered inspiration from numerous teachers in yoga ashrams and centers in the USA, Europe and of course India. She also dealt extensively with modern science in the areas of stress research, burnout therapy and neuroscience. She incorporates various elements from the yoga system into her teaching and combines this with the most modern findings. She attaches great importance to not just limiting herself to the body and the pure “form”. Regardless of whether they are participants in her retreats or graduates of her business yoga courses: the enthusiasm for Kerstin's classes comes from the combination of experience, competence, knowledge, communication talent and joy.
With two decades of experience as a TV presenter, Kerstin knows how to use her body and language to broadcast in such a way that as much as possible is received - so she gives her students a deep experience during practice and shows them how to take yoga from the mat into everyday life “take with you”.
This knowledge is also an important part of the “be better YOGA teacher trainings”, in which Kerstin supports future teachers as the training manager. In addition to the “International Yoga Alliance” curriculum, Kerstin also teaches things such as presence, (body) language and personality training in her training. The high quality of the teachers who have completed the “be better YOGA teacher training” is also reflected in the positive response to their own courses and offers.
