In a time when many people are juggling professional responsibilities, family, and constant availability, new forms of relaxation are emerging. Instead of traditional vacation models, flexible, consciously designed breaks are taking center stage.
The bewithbalance format picks up exactly here for the summer solstice 2026: From June 18th to 29th, 2026, a holiday home in Oeffelt, Netherlands, will be temporarily transformed into a retreat.
Why a real break is not stagnation – but depth
Nature shows us the way: growth happens through stillness. Neuroscience also demonstrates that creativity, regeneration, and mental strength arise precisely in moments of conscious inactivity. And yet, this is exactly what many find difficult: truly disconnecting – without traveling far, without extensive planning, without completely withdrawing from their own lives. This is precisely where bewithbalance comes in.
A holiday home as a retreat – consciously rather than staged
Unlike traditional retreat centers, the bewithbalance home retreat takes place in a private holiday home, which is transformed into a consciously designed retreat for a limited period of time.
The idea behind it: To create an environment that feels like home – and thereby enables genuine relaxation.
At the same time, the retreat provides an insight into the working methods of bewithbalance: Many clients also book the support for their own holidays – for example in fincas, chalets or villas – and integrate coaching, structure and relief directly into their shared time out.

Flexibility as an answer to modern life realities
New for 2026 is the significantly increased flexibility: Participants can individually design their time off between 4 and 12 days.
For the first time, participation without overnight accommodation is also possible. Individual workshop days with yoga, sauna, outdoor whirlpool and good food can also be attended on a day-by-day basis.

This offer is aimed at people who want to integrate a short break without flying and with a manageable journey – for example from the Lower Rhine region, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Eindhoven, Amsterdam or Frankfurt.
The target audience includes professionals with high responsibilities, self-employed individuals, couples and families – including those with younger children – as well as dog owners who want to experience their time off together with their four-legged friend.
The format is particularly appealing to people who want to treat themselves to something special at the beginning of summer – beyond classic holiday routines.
The number of day slots is limited and, based on experience, is usually booked up early.
Between retreat and midsummer energy
Around the summer solstice, a special atmosphere is created on site: a quiet retreat combined with a lively, summery dynamic reminiscent of a consciously curated festival.
Various international experts will design selected sessions and workshops throughout the period – without a rigid schedule, covering topics such as conscious living, balance, relaxation, personal development and community, as an open, fluid concept.

A growing trend: short-term holidays instead of traditional vacations
Formats like this reflect a current shift: Many people are specifically looking for short, effective breaks that can be integrated into their everyday lives – without long journeys or fixed vacation windows.
Retreats in Europe that are flexible to book and easily accessible by train are therefore becoming increasingly important.

About Bernadette Siebers and bewithbalance
bewithbalance is a retreat and support format for people with high responsibilities who want to live and lead consciously and not leave their everyday life – even on vacation – to chance.
Founder Bernadette Siebers combines 25 years of experience in international hospitality, leadership, coaching, and mindfulness. Her approach goes beyond traditional retreats:

bewithbalance accompanies individuals, couples, families and groups of friends not only in curated retreats, but also directly in their own holiday homes – such as fincas, chalets or villas.
A special kind of break is created there: a combination of personal guidance, structure, relief and in-depth content.
Many clients consciously book bewithbalance as an extension of their private vacation and integrate the coaching into their stay for several days or a whole week. A vacation home becomes a retreat.
