In this online Vedanta course leader training, you will deepen and concretize your knowledge of the Vedanta teachings and receive the tools to introduce people to the Vedanta teachings. For example, through Vedanta lectures (shravana), the opportunity to ask questions (manana), giving lectures in small groups with feedback and techniques of systemic consulting. You will learn the systematic structure and process of an 8-week Vedanta course.

Extensive forests and parks, cozy lounges, a quiet monastery, organic vegetarian/vegan cuisine as well as guided walks, hikes, Nordic walking, Kirtan singing, sound meditations. The scriptures say that everything is awareness. For many people, this often remains an abstract statement that cannot be translated into everyday life. The traditional Vedanta teaching is a means that has been used and passed down for thousands of years to recognize your nature as awareness and to shape your life on this basis. In this training, the teachings important for understanding Vedanta are developed in a systematic approach. Step by step you prepare your mental tools for understanding the fundamental entities: awareness, Ishvara and person.
Vedanta is suitable for people who want to understand spiritual experiences through background knowledge, who are willing to give up misconceptions and want to acquire traditional knowledge.
Training content of the Vedanta course leader training:
- Theory and practice of designing a Vedanta course
- Repetition of the basics of Vedanta teaching: among other things. Basic concepts, motivations, qualifications, the self, Ishvara, Karma Yoga, Dharma
- Presentation of lectures from the Vedanta course
- Addressing questions for understanding
- Own teaching experience: Each participant gives several presentations and then receives feedback from the small group. By explaining the topics in the lectures and answering questions, you deepen your own understanding of the Vedanta teachings.
- Course design and teaching didactics: How do you give an introduction to Vedanta? Structure of an introductory course lasting several weeks. Building a Vedanta group. Vedanta and yoga courses.
- Long-term support for aspirants of the Vedanta teaching
The Vedanta course and the Vedanta course leader training are based on the book “Understanding Reality” by James Swartz.
The Vedanta course leader training is suitable for you if you
- already have basic knowledge of traditional Vedanta teachings
Typical representatives of traditional Vedanta include Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Dayananda as well as students in this tradition such as James Swartz, Chandra Cohen or Vedamurti Schönert. Knowledge of Neo Advaita Vedanta is not sufficient.

Day of arrival:
Please arrive by 7 p.m. at the latest.

4.30 p.m. (Fri./Sun.) (other days: 4.15 p.m.) Asanas (yoga positions), pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation.
6:00 p.m. Dinner.
8 p.m. actual training begins with meditation, mantra singing, introductions, lecture.
Daily routine from the 2nd day:
6:00-7:00 a.m. Pranayama (breathing exercises) usually voluntary
7:00 a.m. - approx. 8:05 a.m. Meditation, mantra singing, short reading
approx. 8:05 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. lecture/workshop
9:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Yoga class with asanas (yoga exercises), pranayama (breathing exercises), deep relaxation
11:00 a.m. Brunch (breakfast/lunch).
Help with work around the house (Karma Yoga, 45 min.), study time, break
2:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Lecture/workshop/yoga class/teaching groups, depending on training

Day off
Around the middle of the week there is half a day without classes (11 a.m. - 8 p.m.). Opportunity to take part in a free yoga class at 4:15 p.m.
The daily routine follows the tried and tested Yoga Vidya seminar routine. There are minor differences depending on your training. The workshops, lectures, meditations and yoga lessons are largely tailored to the respective training topic.
The prerequisite for the respective certificate is participation in all program items according to the daily routine, including meditation and mantra singing in the morning and evening as well as the yoga classes.
During training, it is not possible to arrive later or leave earlier or miss a day.
