Yoga is often primarily associated with stretching and flexibility. However, developing strength and stability plays an equally important role in asana practice. Unlike traditional weight training, the focus is usually on longer-held (isometric) muscle contractions, the coordinated interplay of functional muscle chains, and precise body awareness. While this won't lead to the physique of a bodybuilder, it does provide the benefits of a "yoga body"—strong, supple, and functionally resilient muscles, as well as a balanced combination of strength, stability, and flexibility.

In this workshop, you'll learn the fundamental principles of yoga practice if you want to build muscle effectively. You'll discover which asanas and variations are particularly well-suited for strengthening different areas of the body, and how to meaningfully integrate dynamic (isotonic) movements into your practice to further support muscle growth.

Many side effects of cancer treatment can have a lasting impact on daily life. In this 5-part workshop series, we will address the most common side effects and learn how yoga, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation can support greater well-being and quality of life.

• Breathing exercises for regulating the nervous and glandular systems
• 15 minutes of guided deep relaxation
• Space for questions and discussion
